Sapphire Legal is a law firm practicing employment, unemployment, real estate, and construction law throughout the state of Washington. Its attorney and owner, Kristi Pimpleton, has twenty years' of litigation experience. She has worked for both large and boutique law firms during her career, and has handled many types of cases from simple to complex.
It is our goal to provide personalized quality legal representation at an affordable price to each of our clients based on their specific situation and goals. Retaining a solo attorney does not mean you are compromising. We provide representation you will not find at large firms because we get to know you personally, and we use the same resources and technology large firms use.
We provide legal services to individuals, businesses, contractors, subcontractors, homeowners, landlords, tenants, neighbors, employees, employers, small business owners, groups, buyers, sellers, union members, and others. Our clients range from food service workers to government employees and civil servants, from secretaries and office administrative staff to supervisors, corporate managers, directors, and executives, from medical assistants to nurses and doctors. We represent clients in every position from entry level to CEO in every industry. Our clients are also diverse in race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, beliefs, and financial background. We believe in equal opportunity and civil rights. All our clients are treated with the same respect, from janitor to CEO.
We also enforce contracts, draft real estate documents, litigate disputes, and handle unlawful detainer actions (tenant evictions).
Our attorney has experience handling legal matters in a wide array of subject areas and issues, both transactional and in litigation, and for both plaintiffs and defendants.
The legal representation and advice we provide varies from case-to case depending on the issues presented and our client's goals. We provide single one-off appointments for advice and counseling, negotiate settlement and severance packages, write letters, draft agreements, and represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and in court (litigation). We also handle matters involving life insurance, disability insurance, pensions, and other employee benefits. We provide Human Resources consulting to small and medium sized employers, provide training and education, and investigate workplace complaints. We also represent employees who are fighting for insurance coverage, appealing a denial of unemployment benefits, and clients seeking anti-harassment orders, injunctions, and evictions.
We have extensive experience negotiating severance packages for employees who are being terminated or who want to resign. We have successfully and smoothly handled complex executive departures, leading to amicable terms and easy transitions. Clients who want to leave without creating conflict and without damaging their reputation benefit from our approach and representation. Of course, if a client prefers to depart in another way, we can do that too, but we do not usually recommend that approach.
We have represented numerous Amazon and Microsoft employees. We have helped them keep their jobs, reach agreements regarding severance, and take medical or other leave while they determine their options. We help Amazon employees facing Pivot make decisions and come up with strategies. Our extensive experience representing Amazon employees allows us to provide guidance and insight regarding how to reach specific goals and predict what Amazon will do. If an employee has already been terminated or has already decided to leave Amazon or to stay and try to improve, it is not too late for our help. We provide advice and strategy regarding how to handle Focus plans, performance evaluations, coaching and 1:1s, Improve Plans, appeal panels, RSUs and stock vests, extending employment, transferring, requesting ADA accommodations, taking medical and other leave, dealing with Human Resources, and negotiating severance pay.
We have also helped several Boeing employees avoid repayment or reimbursement of pension overpayments, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars saved.
We file liens for contractors, seek removal of liens for owners, draft agreements, and provide advice regarding contractual terms and obligations. We prepare AIA contracts, and administer and manage construction contracts on small and medium projects. We help our construction clients remain in compliance with safety laws and policies, and we help implement safety and training programs for their employees and laborers.
We also draft deeds, purchase and sale agreements, and handle real estate disputes, including landlord-tenant disputes and unlawful detainer actions.
We represent clients in arbitration, mediation, litigation, and in matters involving the EEOC, Human Rights Commission, Department of Labor, and Labor & Industries. We also handle unemployment appeals in front of the Office of Administrative Hearings and petitions for review to the Commission of the Employment Security Department and Superior Court.
Our goal is to relieve our clients from stress and resolve their legal issues. For some clients, this may mean a severance agreement. For others, it could mean keeping their job. It could mean a boundary line adjustment, a leave of absence from work, and agreement regarding a change order, enforcing a contract, or getting approved for unemployment benefits. When clients come to us with a problem, we rely on our vast experience to inform them of options they do not even know are available to them. We are all about creating solutions and outcomes that work for each of our clients. We have helped numerous clients obtain outcomes they never thought were possible. Tell us about your situation and we will create customized options for you.
To learn more about how we can help with your legal issue, please complete our intake form. Our intake process is entirely electronic and is secure. Any and all information you provide us will be kept 100% confidential.
You may also schedule an appointment with us. We have two options for initial appointments, a basic consultation or a coaching and counseling appointment. A consultation is a simple 45-minute appointment where you will tell us about your legal issue and we will provide general legal advice. A coaching and counseling appointment involves an in depth review of your documents and intake form, and a 1 to 1.5 hour appointment where we will answer your questions and provide advice and recommendations for your specific situation.
Our goal is to provide quality legal representation for an affordable fee so more people have access to justice. We try to offer options for our fees (hourly, flat fee, or contingency fee) so clients can choose the option that works best for them. We also offer payment plans for flat fees.
Please note that there is misinformation online regarding our fees, appointment types, and various forms of legal representation. We do not just offer cookie cutter options and our fees are not the same for every client. We recognize that every client and case is unique, and we will work with you to find a solution that works for you.
