Sapphire Legal is a solo attorney law firm. Our primary practice area is employment law on behalf of employees. We also handle cases in construction and real estate.
It is our goal to provide personalized quality legal representation to each of our clients. We provide personalized legal representation based on our clients' specific needs and goals and we do it at a much more affordable rate than a large firm. Retaining a solo attorney does not necessarily mean you compromise on resources. We use the same industry-leading technology and resources as large firms do.
Our attorney has twenty years of litigation experience and has handled cases ranging in size and complexity for both individuals and businesses. If you want an attorney who is experienced, skilled, and will look at your case from your point of view, please contact us to learn how we can help you.
We provide legal services to individuals, businesses, contractors, subcontractors, homeowners, landlords, tenants, neighbors, employees, employers, small business owners, groups, buyers, sellers, union members, and others. Our clients range from food service workers to government employees and civil servants, from secretaries and office administrative staff to supervisors, corporate managers, directors, and executives, from medical assistants to nurses and doctors. We represent clients in every position from entry level to CEO in every industry. Our clients are also diverse in race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, beliefs, and financial background. We believe in equal opportunity, civil rights, and we treat all our clients the same.
The legal representation and advice we provide varies from case-to case depending on the issues presented and client's goals. We offer single one-off appointments for advice and counseling, negotiate settlement and severance packages, write letters, draft agreements, and represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and in court (litigation). We also handle matters involving life insurance, disability insurance, pensions, and other employee benefits. We provide Human Resources consulting to small and medium sized employers, provide training and education, and investigate workplace complaints. We also represent employees who are fighting for their employment benefits and insurance coverage.
We have extensive experience negotiating severance packages for employees who are being terminated or who want to resign. We have successfully and smoothly handled complex executive departures, leading to amicable terms and easy transitions. Clients who want to leave without creating conflict and without damaging their reputation benefit from our approach and representation. Of course, if a client prefers to depart in another way, we can do that too, but we do not recommend that approach.
We have represented numerous Amazon and Microsoft employees. We have helped them keep their jobs, reach agreements regarding severance, and take medical or other leave while they determine their options. We help Amazon employees facing Pivot make decisions and come up with strategies. Our extensive experience representing Amazon employees allows us to provide guidance and insight regarding how to reach specific goals and predict what Amazon will do. We make recommendations based on this history and experience. If an employee has already been terminated or has already decided to leave Amazon or to stay and try to improve, it is not too late for us to help. We provide advice and strategy regarding how to handle Focus plans, performance evaluations, coaching and 1:1s, Improve Plans, appeal panels, RSUs and stock vests, extending employment, transferring, requesting ADA accommodations, taking medical and other leave, dealing with Human Resources, and negotiating severance pay.
We have helped several Boeing employees avoid repayments of pension overpayments, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollar benefits to our clients.
We file liens for contractors, seek removal of liens for owners, draft agreements, and provide advice regarding contractual terms and obligations. We prepare AIA contracts, and administer and manage construction contracts on small and medium projects. We help our construction clients remain in compliance with safety laws and policies, and we help implement safety and training programs for their employees and laborers.
We also draft deeds, purchase and sale agreements, and handle real estate disputes.
We represent clients in arbitration, mediation, litigation, and in matters involving the EEOC, Human Rights Commission, Department of Labor, and Labor & Industries. We also handle unemployment appeals and petitions for review. We have extensive experience in all aspects of litigation from filing the lawsuit to written discovery and depositions, to trial.

Sapphire Legal was formed in September 2017 when owner, Kristi Pimpleton, returned to practicing law after a nearly three-year battle with an illness that almost took her life. During her illness and while on medical leave, Kristi's employment and partnership at a law firm were terminated, leaving her unemployed, without an income, and devastated. Kristi was also denied long-term disability insurance benefits, which she appealed and several months later, finally won. These circumstances, combined with mounting medical bills, resulted in financial hardship, which was humbling and made Kristi think deeply about her life.
Determined to help others facing similar situations, the passion to help others that motivated Kristi to attend law school was reignited. Kristi decided to open her own firm working part-time from home. She changed her practice to focus on people instead of companies. She became an advocate for individuals, the underdogs, and the disadvantaged, which fits perfectly with her drive to achieve justice and has made her a better lawyer.
The firm was named Sapphire Legal in honor of Kristi's parents, who worked hard to give her a better life than they had and supported her decision to attend law school as a single mother. Kristi's mother's birthstone is the sapphire. Her stepfather, who treated her as his own and is deeply loved and missed, tragically died in 2005 in a motorcycle accident caused by a drunk driver. Per his wishes, his ashes reside in Montana's Sapphire Mountains.
